Steve Zahn (Reality Bites, Friends, That Thing You Do, Sahara, Saving Silverman, Dallas Buyers Club, Suburbia...) is so fun onscreen, he's kinda the best thing about every movie he's in.
Or at least every scene.
It’s Steve Zahn!
Steve was in town for the Brooklyn Film Festival, where his short film, I'm No Holiday, written and directed by his friend and fellow actor Rick Gomez, was screening.
So I met him in Williamsburg. We set up the voice recorder. And later, a camera. (You can see him and me do a funny video with random questions at YouTube.com/reallyfamous.) Here's the result.
You'll hear about:
He laughs at which movies and TV shows I watched to "research" him
How Ben Stiller "discovered" him
Bonding with Ethan Hawke
The 5 people he still keeps in touch with, which includes a few phenomenal (and famous) actors
The timeless magic of That Thing You Do
Face Deals (stay tuned!)
The American Repertory Theater, aka The ART Institute at Harvard University
Self-tape, or doing auditions at home and uploading them to Vimeo
His wife, successful writer Robyn Peterman
Social media, marketing and live tweeting
Luck vs. hard work
The White House Correspondents' Dinner
Being a farmer
The theater of politicians
Beavis and Butthead
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Bridge Too Far
